Zakovat-Gambit: The Mass Media Foundation supported the promotion of chess in Uzbekistan

NGO Zakovat, founded by the Mass Media Foundation, held the republican Zakovat-Gambit chess tournament on August 10-15.

The prize fund of the championship was 610 million soums. It was attended by world stars Viswanathan Anand, Judit Polgar, Timur Gareev, Rustam Kasymdzhanov and many others. They not only shared their experience, but also held a simultaneous game session. At the same time, Timur Gareev played Blindfold chess with 15 players from Uzbekistan.

The youngest chess player who took part in the final of the tournament, Oriyat Obidzhonov, was 7 years old, and the oldest, Vladimir Vladimirovich, was 71 years old.

In total, almost 4 thousand players have registered to participate in the tournament.
